On October 4, 2025, Pope Leo XIV issued the apostolic exhortation Dilexi Te to all Christians on love for the poor. This one-time discussion will explore Dilexi Te allowing participants to share thoughts and impressions. The chapters within the document are: A Few Essential Words, God Chooses the Poor, A Church For The Poor, A History That Continues, and A Constant Challenge. Themes include: forms of poverty, prejudices, choice, justice, mercy, simplicity, true riches, care of the sick, monastic life, freedom, witness, education, accompaniment, and application today.

We will meet for a 1 1/2 hour Zoom session on Thursday, December 11 at 6-7:30 pm (Pacific) 9-10:30 pm (Eastern)

Discussion prompts and the Zoom link will be provided on Tuesday, December 9 to prime the conversation. This will be a facilitated group discussion involving a brief prayer/reflection, a review of ground rules for the sharing, and ample time for participants to share. Benedictine/monastic themes will be highlighted as appropriate in the flow of the conversation.

This program is a discussion rather than a lecture. The quality comes from your willingness to participate in the conversation.

Note: Please obtain and read a copy of Dilexi Te before the December 11th session.

Diffusions offers online programs to further opportunities for prayer, learning, community, and spiritual growth from a Benedictine perspective. We look forward to bringing Wisdom from the Center to you, wherever you are.
