Allen Tacke

Allen Tacke grew up in a large family on a farm in Greencreek, ID. For the past 45 years he has been pursuing a path of spiritual development into such territories as the purposes of life, the natural laws and ways of creation and the human’s possibility and purpose inside of all of this.

This has led him to become a teacher of spiritual ways and principles for the past 35 years. He has worked as a mental health counselor in nursing homes in the Seattle area for 23 years. Along the way he has provided trainings to other professionals in such areas as how to work with difficult patients, anxiety, depression, grief, death and the power of the mind.

Allen is constantly motivated by the power of healing. His great love and passion is to assist others to move past the things in their life that block and prevent them from becoming who they are meant to be and the lifetime journey of discovering this. The act of listening has become a sacred rite in life and a doorway into the thrilling and mystical beauty of what can pass between two people when graced with something higher.

The Healing Power of Listening

November 5 - 8, 2026
Listening is a step removed form hearing. It is conscious, deliberate and intentional. Listening is an art and a skill that does need conscious effort, practice and development. It is the basis of our relationships with each other and ourselves. At its highest, the genuine act of listening can even be healing. During this four-day retreat we will dive deeply into listening and its many different aspects. Ways of listening to yourself and to others will be demonstrated and explored with the focus of the retreat coming from the maxim: “You can only treat others the way you treat yourself.” You are invited to join us as we endeavor to become a better instrument of listening and healing as spoken by St. Francis so long ago: “Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.”
